These two are very different cars. To answer your question, I need to know where your location is? What is the daily route? Do you consistently haul lots of huge and heavy stuff? The Santa Fe is good for lots of highway travel, the occasional flash flood, extra people or stuff or unexpected rough terrain when on an excursion in Baguio. It's made on the Sonata's chassis so expect sedan like handling and a sedan like ride. And its so DAMN fast I'm sure none of the locally available pickup-based SUVs and mid-size SUVs can catch up with it. And then again, its got lots of toys to play with too! The Everest is a very competent offroader. It can literally go anywhere! Whether it be on steep mountainous inclines, basketball-sized rocks or floods covering the hood. Its spacious inside and its got lots of toys inside as well. But its got a choppy ride thanks to the rear leaf spring suspension and a strong but rather unrefined engine.

Same as GTi. Gotta know where you would commonly go, and what you prioritize in an SUV. For a car-like ride that does in-city/mostly highway/occasional offroad runs, the Santa Fe is what you should go for. For truck-like ruggedness + bigger cargo capacity, the Everest. You could improve the Everest's ride a bit by replacing the shock absorbers, but it'll never be as smooth or car like as the Santa Fe's.
