Bakit naman mag close ang Hyundai Balintawak?

If indeed it closes then ok lang pero there seems to be no indication naman that they would...

Bakit kaya?? Di sila profitable with HARI or laki ba kinakaltas ng HARI sa sales nila kaya gusto na nila mag grey market...

Pero kung naging grey market ang Hyundai Balintawak magandang laban yan VS Hyundai NORTH EDSA. Gera yan!

Nagtataka din ako dito I thought Hyundai Balintawak was just moving to a bigger showroom dun nga sa dating Nissan Balintawak.

Bought an Elantra pa naman sa Hyundai Balintawak last August nakalagay nga na Laus Group of Companies sa New Plate. Sana hindi magsara yung Hyundai Balintawak.

    Coyiutos junk Nissan for Hyundai
    BY IRMA ISIP
THE Coyiuto Group, operator of what used to be the biggest distributor of Nissan vehicles, has cut its 17-year partnership with Universal Motors Corp. and Nissan Motor Philippines Inc. and teamed up with Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI).

Motor and Image Inc. will be the Coyiuto Group’s corporate vehicle for its independent dealership of Hyundai vehicles.

"We want a better turnover. It’s a good move from Nissan to Hyundai because of the popularity of its vehicles. It’s fast-moving and in the future it has more potential," Miguel Coyiuto, president of Hyundai North EDSA, said.

Coyiuto said the North EDSA dealership was the biggest outlet of Nissan cars and trucks but the business could not be sustained because of losses.

Coyiuto said North EDSA aims to be the top Hyundai dealership and hopes to sell double the average 200-unit monthly sales of other dealerships and of North EDSA itself in the heyday of its partnership with Nissan.

Coyiuto said satellite offices may be set up for Hyundai distributorship in other areas.

The Coyiuto Group also distributes luxury vehicles Porsche and Audi. Recently it won the distributorship for Lamborghini.

Hyundai North EDSA is located on a 10,533 square meter lot in Balintawak, Quezon City that houses an 800 sq.m. showroom.

It is one of the largest automotive showrooms and motoring service facilities in the country.

Hyundai’s lineup includes the Grand Starex, Grand Starex Limousine, Tucson Premium, Santa Fe, Sonata, Elantra, Accent, i10, as well as Genesis Sport Coupe.

HARI is expanding its dealership despite the tight supply of units that forced the firm to slash its target.

Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, HARI president and chief executive officer, said in an interview at the sidelines of the launch on Friday of Hyundai North EDSA that the company has slashed to 20,000 units its sales target for the year from the original 25,000 units.

Agudo said supply cannot keep up with demand for Hyundai vehicles such that the company has stopped accepting deposits from buyers.

Back orders are piling up across all models. Waiting period for the Tucson, for example, is two months.

Agudo said supply should normalize in six months as Hyundai Korea, where all its vehicles come from, is adding more shifts in its production.

According to Agudo, the 82-percent growth in sales in 2010 was four times the projected increase of 20 percent for that year. The dealership forecast was based on average growth.

Agudo said HARI expects to expand its dealership network to 45, all independent, by the middle of 2012 when the supply should have normalized. HARI is also launching two or three fresh models as well as the diesel-powered Accent by 2012.
