If that’s the case, using cruise control is unnecessary because you need to constantly fumble around with buttons if you keep adjusting the speed. Better turn it off and just use the pedal.

cruise control is nice, if one has a nice, long, boring highway to drive it on.

That's what i'm thinking. At the nlex, i think a 5 minute 80 kph constant stretch would not even be possible considering a lot of slower vehicles and 2 lanes portion (only) along nlex.

Meron din naman benefit. You run about 5 to 10 mins on SLEX/TPLEX before you either click to speed up or step on the brakes. Then you set your cruise again. It does seem to add more complications to the driving but I felt more relaxed than the normal keep your foot on the gas pedal and constantly looking to make sure you are not going over the speed limit too much.

I guess the constant interaction also helps keep me awake hehehe

That's bs man, modern cars have engine splash shields and a water tight sealing all-round. Water inside the engine would create a milkshake like mixture inside. I suspect that the car didn't have enough oil or he just got a lemon car. He should email or write a formal letter to Hyundai and insist that the car hasn't been exposed to severe "water splashing" other than a normal rain in the city.

some cars' fronts are designed to maximize air flow into the engine bay, so as to maximize engine cooling.
unfortunately, i believe, it also encourages water to go in.

also, heavy water spray from heavy rain or, more likely, water thrown up by nearby cars' tires as they cut thru minimally-flooded road surfaces,
find their way under the bonnet in the engine bay, and into an ill-positioned engine air intake that's sucking everything within reach..

in a 1600 displacement engine, as little as 50 ml of water sucked into a cylinder, can hydrolock that cylinder.

    nice thought exercise, this.

it loops to the side to drain the water. ive driven my elantra over some 300ish mm water and my airbox has never had any moisture.

this hydrolocked kona must have been driven into some really deep floods.
