January 3rd, 2012 07:33 PM #2393Thanks for the response...humingi pala ako update kanina 4pm...monitor nga nila output ng Alternator while engine is running idle. Medyo nainis lang ako kasi ang ginagamit nila sa monitoring eh yung battery nagleak, sa pagkakaalam ko delikado yun kasi posible na sumabog...Wala sense if they are using the leaked battery while monitoring, dapat yung bago na gamitin.....again,thanks...

Just receive a call from Willet of Hyudai E Rodriguez Service Department assessment nila eh Alternator Overcharging pero 65% daw sila sure, callback nila ako later between 3-pm for update. And sabi niya na-inspect din nila kung may nagshort na electrical wiring ng buong kotse. Delikado naba electrical wiring ng buong sasakyan? Bigla ko naalala yung case sa youtube na nasunog yung buong sasakyan. Ang alam ko delikado pag nagleak ang battery kasi posible na nagshort sa loob nito, pag nashort sa loob nito buong electrical system ng unit eh posible din maapektuhan. After ng full report balak namin papalitan buong unit, exagerated ba actions namin?...please advise.
Based sa recommended na Breakin...driver should play between 2k and 4k RPM ... at sinunod ko naman yun para maingatan tsikot namin. Since informed naman ako regarding 1.8 whinning sound using the engine oil from Korea, pinigilan ko sarili for the NFS(Need for Speed). Balak ko ihataw pag napalitan na engine oil to recommended Fully Synthetic.

January 4th, 2012 07:02 PM #2397Tingin ko alternator problem yan. Possible na nagloko ang regulator kaya na overcharged ang battery, syempre kumulo ng husto ang electrolyte, nag crack ang plates at umawas ang liquid sa battery.
Hindi naman siguro kailangan palitan ang buong unit dahil lang dito. Wala naman reported electrical problem ang elantra sa internet here and abroad.

January 6th, 2012 09:36 AM #2399Thanks to this thread I have decided to get an Elantra 1.6 M/T. I was already set to get an Accent but was discouraged by the engine-knock issue. The only problem I have with my Big Boss right now is the color options, she likes the santorini blue but we were told that only silver and white are available for the M/T variant. I' am planning to delay my purchase a bit in hopes of Hyundai offering additional colors for the M/T variant, like with the new hazel nut brown color option for 1.8 GLS.
Hope I can get a great deal so I can have my Elantra before the 1st quarter ends
