    Most engines use the belt/chain method because they can adjust the timing (advance/retard) whereas in these it's much more limited. I would imagine the gears would be like in a differential that will require oil too, like you said.

    thanks for the infos, sirs!... btw, what i knew was that previous honda city cars used timing belts, nissan sentra and urvan before, used timing chains and the mitsubishi galant vr '97 model used timing gears...

    anyway, i made this thread because i was planning to buy a honda car and i really need some technical infos...
