    At kung hindi iyan stock, sabihin mo sa susunod na magbebenta siya, ilagay yung engine sa ad niya ... kung modified man.

    It looks exactly like an ESi engine with an air-filter and headers attached. There's no VTEC solenoid, so it's not a JDM D15B, but it's difficult to tell the difference between a non-VTEC EFI D15 and a non-VTEC D16 without looking at the engine type stamped on the block.

    The very fact that it's EFI and non-VTEC means it's probably a local D16 (PH16). The lower-end LXi only came with a carbureted D15.

    If you have the registration papers, you can check whether the engine's been changed.

    1) There are many versions of the ZC engine - there's even a SOHC and DOHC ZC (it's the only DOHC D-series). What will determine its VTEC capability is its cylinder head as VTEC is nothing more than a valvetrain technology.

    2) One cannot guess what engine resides in that car unless you look at the code stamped on the block. Better if you take a Honda-knowledgeable engine specialist mechanic with you when you inspect the car, because it's very common to have cylinder-head swaps on same-series Honda engines as well (e.g. PH15/D15B non-VTEC bestowed VTEC by swapping in a VTEC head = "mini-me" conversion).
