It kicks in around 4,500 to 5000 RPM depending on your throttle position.

Depende sa VTEC variant. There are different VTEC engines kasi eh (SOHC VTEC, DOHC VTEC, SOHC VTEC-E, i-VTEC, etc.)

Yung VTEC ng 97 Accord kicks in at 2.2k rpm. How do I know? Hehehe, I installed a VTEC light. (Although since sira yung VSS ko, ayaw gumana ng VTEC ngayon :sad

From what I learned over at HCP, yung DOHC VTEC kicks in at ~4.5k, while the SOHC VTEC is around 3.5k rpm.

Re: VTEC light, check mo sa internet how to do it. Walang kit na nabibili para diyan, lahat DIY (AFAIK). Also, wala pa yatang nagkakabit ng VTEC light for i-VTEC engines. Puro SOHC/DOHC pa lang. Either you tap the VTEC solenoid or the ECU pin.

Actually, you can do this yourself. No soldering. Simple wiring and one LED bulb. VTEC yo!
