May 27th, 2021 10:50 PM #11Just saw a shop owner offer 650k for a low mileage SiR (odo 59k).
So this is now the range for an all stock, orig paint civic sir.
It got me thinking this is the time to look for a decent, clean one.

Nope, too much for a 20-year-old car. For less, you can get a younger and faster used car. This is more an emotional purchase if you ask me.
I offered 250k to a neighbor who has a stock SiR in orange. It was never modded and the very senior owner only drives it on weekends. He never even let his son drive it. He refused and I understand. He is past 80 now and maybe I will wait till he passes away. Maybe his son is easier to deal with.

May 28th, 2021 09:11 AM #18or,
he bought one because he liked and could,
and never put it thru its racing phases.
in which case, it might in better condition than the other units that were shown off at the carburator challenge..
but still,
650K for a 20 year old car!
... only if the person is smitten...
let the idea simmer for some weeks muna siguro.
see if the urge goes away.

June 8th, 2021 03:34 AM #19For 1.3L, 1.5L i-VTEC engine is a true VTEC engine. VTC will kick at 3,500 and VTEC at around 5,300 or 5,400 rpm. You really need to floor it to feel the vtec.
i-VTEC is basically a VTC + VTEC
