July 23rd, 2015 06:24 PM #22You may call one their casa dealer branches near you and connect you to their parts department. Since laguna ka nga ba? Kung Laguna ka, or South area, you may ask to call and visit their plant if parts can be purchased over them through walk in customer. Sa casa kasi kapag wala available na parts in their stockroom/storage room. They will acquire it from the plant through order basis. You will deposit 50% of the price for the part. 1 week period, or more so before you can pick up from the casa where you had place your ordered part. I have no idea how much for your model. But mine, way 2008 ago, cost me around P7k++ for that same part. My model was a 1999 SX8 Lxi variant. For the thermostat valve, the price does not differ from the thermo switch. Have it checked muna, pull it out, then let it dry, then remove scales deposits by a steel brush. You may also like to use mini steel brushes, that are sometimes sell on a 3-in-1 package. How to test it? The thermostat valve. Get a pan, put in some amount of water, let it boil (100°c). Submerged the thermostat valve in the boiling water in a pan for a 3 minutes or so. Get a cooking thongs, lift it. Observed if it contracts (open state) the metal spring. When it does and as the part was pulled out from boiling water, the part slowly retracts the spring as it cools down(closed state). It is still functional and considered to be normal.

July 23rd, 2015 08:30 PM #23boss mahirap ata tanggalin yung thermostat? need ba drain coolant ulit from rad?

Pwede naman hindi but it will be messy kasi may tatapon na coolant galing dun sa butas.
And if ever you will do this, palamigin nyo muna engine para iwas getting burns.

Like jodski said, palamigin mo muna or better yet first day in the morning na hindi pa na warm-up o di pina-andar engine. Para hindi mainit. And no need to drain all coolant in radiator. Yes magkaroon lang ng spill, when thermostat valve was removed or dismounted.
If di mo kaya, have your trusted mechanic do it for you at home.

July 25th, 2015 12:37 AM #26Bago na rin kasi radiator mo kaya matagal na time interval para umikot both fans, and your condenser as you said bago palit na rin di ba. Dahil new radiator and condenser, madali na lang mag-dissipate ng heat, by free flowing air, kaya siguro pansin mo at ng mekaniko mo, matagal ang time interval ng fans na mag-activate. No temp gauge at red light indicator lang to warn you, if it is overheating. Try mo muna paandarin makina mo without aircon ng idle running kahit isa oras o higit pa hanggang mag-lit ang red light, kapag mag-lit na red light indicator at hindi pa umadar ang radiator fan mo, sige, try checking it all with your trusted mekaniko. Radiator fan FUSE, thermo-switch sensor for radiator fan, thermostat valve and Relay for radiator fan. Determine/diagnose mo muna kung may faulty o wala, para to avoid unnecessary buying of parts that is not really needed to be purchased.

Kapag mainit na yung coolant, the switch will short to the ground and cause the fan to run until lumamig uli yung dumadaloy na coolant.
Aside from that, it also regulates the proper flow.
Same thing pag umuulan.
This gets worse pag sira ang fan. 100% overheat yan.
Keep in mind and tell your mechanic that thermostats are designed to fail in the open position para maiwasan ang overheating caused by a bad thermostat.

so far after palitan rad ko never pa nag overheat.. pero palagi ako nag aaircon.
