January 10th, 2012 06:42 PM #1Hi! recently change my transmission to a japan surplus cvt
1st problem (changed orig due to grinding/tunog bakal na gumagasgas on acceleration from full stop, pero nawawala after)
2nd problem yung japan tranny naman till 4th gear lang. ayaw na magshift need pa naka cvt mode para magshift to 7th.
baka meron diyan mga nakaexperience ng same problem. help naman. thanks!
2005 gd 1.5L vtec 50km palang mileage 1st owner din.

Hi,
My brother’s CVT tranny also experienced the same problem after getting his tranny replaced with Japan Surplus. Gear shifting is stuck at 3rd/4th gear unless 7speed mode is activated (either manual or auto).
My mechanic says it’s because it came from a right-hand-drive. Is there any workaround or additional work that needs to be done as a rule of thumb when getting Japan Surplus Trannies?
To the TS, I know this is an old thread but was your problem solved?
