Sir, first and foremost if you want to purchase a honda, don't say "ganto kababang modelo", Honda has it's credibility way bay since we were a child. And even as old as a 1993 eg Civic has it's own respect in the auto industry.
Anyways, there's no harm in buying either of the two models you just need to look for the ff:
- Oil Leak (Busted Gaskets)
- Tampered engine code.
- Busted bushing if any (trailer arm, a-arm).
- Knocking sounds
- Body for rust
- Tires for age
- Necessities: Brake, Signal, park lights, gauge/s
- Oil compression (pag on ang eninge at nakamenor buksan mo ung oil cap sa valve cover if excessive ang talsik palabas, there's something wrong with the engine dapat ksi minimal ang talsik.
- If cannot be checked by your own eyes a relaible mechanic can do the assessment.
- Aircon
- Tranny if smooth shifting
- Make sure to test drive the vehicle.
-it's not the look neither the mileage of the vehicle, it's how the current owner love his car-
Hope it helps.

being an owner of one of them, it's still definitely a good buy provided its previous driver wasn't too abusive of the car.
since a/t iyong target mo bro, double check the quality of the transmission. kadalasan problema din iyan sa older models ng civic (at sa lahat ng pre-owned a/t tranny cars). iba talaga ang wear and tear ng mga a/t tranny. kaya for me, better kung stick shift ang bilhin niyo considering the age & mileage of the car bro
