    PRESS RELEASE:

May 18, 2011 - Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. presents an experience of absolute refinement and sheer power with the latest model of Honda Accord. Carefully designed and crafted to suit the most discriminating tastes of modern times, the refreshed model of the Accord is set to 3 fascinate one’s senses.

Honda’s highly acclaimed premium sedan exudes commanding presence from any angle. Its aggressive form accentuated with deep character lines gives the Accord that combined sporty and sophisticated exterior. In enhancing its premium finish, the 2011 Accord comes with new front grille and bumper designs. Also, its rear now comes with chrome garnishing on the trunk. Both 2.4 li and 3.5 li variants now come with front corner sensors in addition to rear sensors for easy parking. Furthermore, the 2.4 li variant has a new 17” alloy wheel design that matches its dynamic styling.

Enjoy expansive space inside the Accord. Boasting the biggest cabin space in its class, take pleasure of the Accord’s liberating interiors. Plush leather seats fitted with only the finest choice of interior materials provide comforting luxury for this big sedan. For added enhancement, it also features a jack knife key. And to complement the demands of modern living, the 3.5 li variant now comes with hands-free telephone connectivity via bluetooth to handle calls safely and conveniently.

Still at the heart of the Accord is a powerful engine line-up that is capable of delivering commanding performance without sacrificing fuel economy. The 3.5 li V6 engine delivers maximum power of 275 ps * 6200 rpm. This variant comes equipped with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) that closes down cylinders when not needed, to maximize fuel mileage and lessen harmful emissions. Depending on one’s driving style, VCM intelligently activates and deactivates cylinders from 6 to either 4 or 3 cylinders. When cruising, for example, an ECO light appears on the instrument panel to indicate that the Accord is running on only 4 or 3 cylinders. Meanwhile, the 2.4 liter variant continues with Honda’s much-celebrated i-VTEC engine technology and delivers maximum power output of 180 ps * 6,500 rpm. As with the rest of HCPI's product line-up, the Accord meets EURO-4 emission standards.

Always in control, the Honda Accord never fails to live up to the dynamic needs of the market. Its automatic transmission has a shift hold system that cleverly prevents unwanted changing of gears particularly on winding roads. And despite its massive size, the Accord is actually a pleasure to drive. Thanks to its variable gear ratio, the Accord delivers precise steering response during high speed driving wherein only small inputs are required. When parking or wherein large input is needed, the ratio provides quick and easy steering.
One of Honda‘s primary thrusts includes comprehensive methodology to vehicle safety.

For one’s peace of mind, the 2011 Honda Accord comes with the advanced 6 airbags with an Occupant Position Detection System (3.5 liter variant), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) and VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist). The 2011 Honda Accord’s superior safety performance has earned a 5-star over-all vehicle score from the National Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) in the U.S. To date, the Accord is one of only six vehicles to achieve such best possible over-all score and is the first to achieve a 5-star safety rating in each of the three rating categories namely frontal crash, side crash and rollover categories. A five-star rating, the highest rating possible, represents 10% or less chance of serious injury.

Since its introduction in 1976, the Honda Accord has earned the approval of over 18 million owners from 160 countries and has been recognized on numerous occasions for its exceptional value. The Honda Accord has won Japan’s Car of the Year award three times and Car and Driver Magazine’s 10 Best Cars for the 25th time, to name a few.

Designed to deliver an impressive driving experience beyond power, the Honda Accord comes in two variants with the following suggested retail prices: 2.4-liter ATPhp 1,700,000.00 3.5-liter V6 ATPhp 2,050,000.00

Not sure why Polished Metal isn't available for the 3.5.

I don't find Urban Titanium so nice...

Even though I'm biased towards the japanese brands, I think the base Sonata could give the 2.4L Accord a run for its money this time. Not sure if new accords and camries are even sold these days. (End of slight OT)
