Dalawang klasi ang hydraulic hose, steel ply or cotton ply.

Update pala dito... I just had my power steering hose replaced.
    this is for a 2001 civic ES5.

I removed the high pressure hose. this was not very hard. a 10 and 14mm wrench is all it took. And of course some muscle power mahigpit yung V-nut sa may rack and pinion end eh... Then I brought the hose to a nearby hydraulic hose shop (near floodway in pasig). The replaced the hose and recrimped the fittings using the same size hose cotton type. It was done in about 10 minutes.

Then I went to honda pasig to buy a liter of PSF.

I went home and installed the hose. Bled the PS system and checked for leaks. Everthing was in order in just half a day (most of the time spent was in traffic!)

    Total Cost:
Power steering hose replacement and recrimping = 1,200
OEM Honda power steering fluid = 550
Labor = Free kasi DIY ;)

yes sir actually casa was charging me 11,900 for the hose alone they were the one who found out that my hose was leaking. wala pa ang labor diyan di ko na tinanong.
After the usual change oil service, I pulled out my car from casa and did the repair myself. I will not spend that amount for just a hose that a replacement one can do the same job.

Oh BTW ang naging CONS lang when I used the recrimped hose (pang forklift) may humming sound kapag lumiliko. The hose somewhat vibrates or resonates and it produces this humming sound when turning. But you can only hear this when the car is stopped and you open the hood. pag umaandar na hindi na rinig.

    maraming salamat sir.

    GOOD LUCK!!
