    Try to get '95 Esi. AFAIK, '93-94 are prone to bubble forming (and even rusting out) on the roof. Our '93 had this problem. So far, the '94 and '95 didnt have that problem.

    When buying one, try to find an all stock unit (hard to find with all these wannabe rice boy racers). Try to find one with a stock engine (PH16) since engine transplants to B16, etc..although done successfully, problems may tend to crop up or abound soon. Get a manual transmission. The performance of the automatic (even when new) is horribly slow or way too restrained.

    Check if the cylinder head gasket has been replaced otherwise, oil leaks will be obvious. Check for leaks underneath, at this age, there are bound to be lots of leaks (ours has lots of it). Also check the weatherstripping or alignment on the rear doors, for some reasons, ours doesn't close so well as before.

    Although some posters here recommend to get the EK instead of EG, I still wholly recommend an EG anytime. We had/have three EG sedans '93 A/T, '94 A/T, '95 M/T. At the same time, we also have a '99 EK VTi M/T. '95 M/T has the best engine and transmission combo. Although it has no VTEC, it revs and delivers better performance than '99 VTEC. Also, the EG has the edge on design (exterior and interior-love the dashboard and steering wheel the most)

    Thanks Sir Number01 for sharing your knowledge and experience encountered while using those car models

    my classmate bought a 98' model of Vti for 180k I'm not sure if it's VTi because I can't find the Vti emblem anymore, though he said it was a VTi. Do you think 180k for Vti is reasonable?

    Again thanks po sa lahat ng tumutulong

    Pop the hood of his car and see if there is a "VTEC" on the cylinder head. Also one way to tell if its a VTI, is through the radio antenna. If his antenna is located right on top of driver's roof that means its a manual antenna (as in "dihatak") and therefore the body of that vehicle (regradless of what engine is inside it now) is a 1.5 LXi. A VTi has power antenna and it is located near portion of the body by the fuel tank filler area.

    I'm out of touch with prices but 180K seem ok (car defects, problems,conditions notwithstanding-since this sight unseen). Sold my '95 ESi four years ago, for Php 195K with less than 60T kms and engine never opened.

    My 1995 model ESi had rust bubbles on the rear pillars on both sides. Sa roof wala naman.

    The ESi (EG body) looks much much better than the EK (VTi body). It's much faster than the Vti/LXi EKs on stock form. Looks best inside out..

    for me, ok lang esi. maintenance in cheap and ok pa rin porma.

    how bout the eg hatch? for that price baka makachamba ka ng nakaengine swap na and all powered.

    hindi naman gaano kaprone yung ESi sa rice boys compared to the hatch. but its still a challenge to get a unit that is fresh and cheap.

    sabi nga nila sa buy and sell, buy the car that you really want because you might regret it in the end.

    sir, sobrang OT na po kayo, hindi po ito selling thread, may corresponding thread po para diyan...

    *Tread starter(TS),
    sir, ESi na po kunin niyo get the '95 model, may ako ESi 4 years na sakin, at alaga lang sa maintenance lang talaga para mapanatili ang ganda ng takbo. remember sir, mas malakas ang ESi kaysa sa VTi na prove na namin yan dyno man o naturally aspirited driving.

    best gawin mo sa ESi, maintain mo lang na stock engine mo then kung gusto mo mas lumakas, IHE lang yan IHE(intake, headers, Exhaust)samahan mo narin ng rechip at tune ng ECU. and there you go...

    then drop mo lang, kahit 1.5 drop lang at 15" mags(rota).then lagay ka ng CHIN oks na...kahit stock lang interior mo oks lang basta malinis tignan...

    remember kahit baliktarin mo ang
    CIVIC = CIVIC parin
    racecar = racecar parin

    no wonder.
