    mga sir,

newbee lang po, medyo nalito lang ako sa dami ng nagpost tungkol sa vtec. my car is a honda civic ph16A engine vtec. gusto ko lang sana linawin kung anu vtec nakalagay dito. eto b yung aggressive type, vtec E, or 3-stage.

dun kasi sa ibang post medyo andami nila inexplain medyo nakakalito na ....gusto ko sana linawin for good.

i installed a vtec light and vtec activates at ~3200rpm - i dont feel the extra kick though gaya ng sinasabi ng iba lalo n yung sa mga SIR (so assumed n Vtec E nga nakalagay).

so mga sir and gurus, anu b talga ang nakalagay n vtec sa ph16a honda civic 96

pareho ba to hanggang sa honda civic until 99 model?

Actually parang combination ng d16y5 and D16y8

the local VTi engine has the same long block with a D16Y5, Tapos yung intake manifold pang D16Y8 - emong3
    PH16A is a modified Vtec-E rated 127 Hp. - vicvic
yung term na "fake" is because nakasanayan na na pag may vtec, it will produce a lot of power. With vtec-E the engine is designed to save fuel, not producing a lot of power. Kaya tinawag na "fake" kasi kabaligtaran eh. - emong3
vtec e (local vti) has 16 cam lobes--12 cam lobes + 4 (for vtec mode, making all for valves/cylinder work), derived from USDM civic HX engine 115hp, but has wilder cam lobes (relatively) to produce the 127hp.

kaya siguro "fake" vtec for some is because it is not like the USDM civic EX which has 127hp but uses the 20 cam lobe vtec(16+4, the extra 4 are for vtec).

and yes local vti - 127hp, usdm hx - 115hp. same vtec style, different heads/intake...

why vtec-e? just to reiterate yung nsabi na sa taas, to focus on FUEL ECONOMY - boodis
    hope that helps. ;)
