I rode shotgun once in my buddy's SiR. It had the usual stage 1 mods. IHE, porting, slick tires (joke, nakalbo lang), and God knows what else. It ran 160km/h at 4th gear while overtaking on a national highway here in Bulacan. Of course, it could go a lot faster but we were just concerned about testing acceleration of a 3S-GE A/T MR2 driven by another friend. The MR2 couldn't match the SiR's acceleration from a standstill, rolling start, and at cruising speed. I loved how the B16 pulled at 3rd gear, especially when VTEC kicked in, yo. A 7th-gen Lancer (I think it's an A/T) tried keeping up with us, but it quickly disappeared.

Now I want my own K20 EG hatch.

Later on, he admitted to turning off his aircon (we had ours on full-blast)... once he turned it off... tuuuuurbo....

Of course, at lower speeds, in 1st and 2nd gear, the Exalta is no match... but at highway speeds, it's not the weight so much as the gearing and the power that matter.
i agree. i feel that exaltas have fatter torque curve than the civic. i can feel the car pulling in a much lower rev than the ek matic. but at the top end, hondas really are the best in my book.

^It changes the valve timing using mechanical means and makes for more intake or exhaust volume. Sorry for the simple explanation, you can find more detailed documentation on howstuffworks.com.

Maybe if some people can avoid comparing their HONDAs with other "econoboxes", maybe it won't happen.
