Honda ZR-V to make global debut after US launch | Autodeal

New reports indicate that Honda Motor is planning to launch the HR-V globally as the ZR-V. What’s with the name? Well, it looks like Honda is targeting Generation Z for this model. With the vehicle being based on the Civic and boasting sporty looks and performance, it makes sense that Honda will be looking to attract the younger crowd to the ZR-V.

Markets so far confirmed to get the ZR-V are the European and Chinese markets, with Japan also likely getting the model. It’s currently unclear whether a Southeast Asian launch is in the cards for Honda.

All-new Honda ZR-V revealed with Civic dashboard | Autoindustriya

With the ZR-V already revealed in China, would it make sense for Honda to bring it to Southeast Asia? Perhaps, but since we already have the all-new HR-V in the country it might cannibalize sales of the latter.

If it were offered in Ph, would it be above or under the hrv model?

I think its a crossover kind of market nowadays. If this is gac made.. honda should be able to sell it abit cheaper.

it meets the criteria as an affordable Chinese made car

kaso, I don't think it makes sense for Honda PH to bring it here.

price-wise, its HR-V vs the Corolla Cross

Pero the Cross is based on the Corolla. The HR-V on the City

    Rush (and Veloz) vs BR-V

The ZR-V aka USDM HR-V is more a true Corolla Cross competitor.
I think Honda could have squeezed it in the local lineup if it didn't offer the top spec subcompact HR-V with a 1.5 Turbo.
