Patulong naman bros.
Our Honda Jazz, acquired Oct., 2004, did not start this morning. It looks like the battery is dead. I plan on replacing the battery this afternoon. However, I undestand that I need to reprogram its CVT. From what I read, here's how to do it:
1. Start the car and run it to operating temp (no other electricals must be used like aircon, radio, power windows, mirrors, lights). Keep the doors closed so that the dome light is not on.
2. Shut down the engine
3. Start engine again and turn on headlights, without operating any other electrical load (other than headlights).
4. From P(ark), shift to N, D, S, L, S, D, N while waiting at least 2 seconds before shifting to the next position
5. Repeat the N, D, S, L, S, D, N sequence for 3 times
6. Turn-off headlights
7. Shutdown engine
Has anyone here personally reprogrammed his Honda Jazz CVT using the above procedure? Or do I need to do some more steps?
TIA.

I did it once, but I remember the steps being shorter but I forgot the steps already.
I also changed my battery but didn't need to reset my CVT.

ask ko lang, bakit ni-rereset pa ang CVT? nagkakaprob ba kung di ginawa yan?

I've connected the - terminal first then the +. Don't know if there is a correct way of doing it. . . . I tried boosting it first to see if battery is really dead.
Exactly one year namatay ang battery. Tamang tama sa warranty.

Even changing batteries needs some reprogramming thinga majing
I rather have regular A/T anytime

I changed the battery a couple of hours ago.
What I did was to remove the battery support first and then the terminal connectors last. I then immediately switched to the new battery.
I was hoping that there is a capacitor across the CVT memory that can hold its content for a few seconds. I then drove the car and did not notice any significant change in the 'shifting' pattern.
Anyway, I did the reprogramming steps mentioned above and drove the car again,- no change...
Could be also that the memory is flash nowadays....
