hard mountain driving = tagaytay driving? :D
ale828, yup it is fuel efficient. i can vouch for that personally. we are getting 12-13kms to the liter, pure city driving so that includes stop and go driving, and sometimes traffic jams. :D

me too, 12-13km per liter ... fuel efficient po talaga. habang ttumatagal, parang ayaw ko na sya ibenta. yun nga lang talaga, there's this sound from the rear pag nalulubak or may humps. other than that this small car is OK.
as for the dealership & post sale service ... another story, hehehe

7.62 km/L lang yung kuha ko kanina sa moderate traffic sa city (38.1 km, 5.000 liters)

naku, kahit buhok ni marge simpson kasyang kasya sa jazz hehe
more impressions:
1. handles well. little understeer. negligible body roll.
2. steering is accurate but far too light and gives no feedback
3. driving position is not very comfortable for me... pedals are too close in relation to steering wheel, which translates to big-time leg soreness in heavy traffic. the lack of a seat height adjustment compounds the discomfort.
4. fuel economy is absolutely stellar when driven on the highway... im not very sure yet for typical city driving
5. the handbrake lever on our test unit feels like its not connected to anything.
6. CVT is very good.
7. engine is zippy around town, but labors in the mountains, when overtaking and gives glacial acceleration beyond about 130 kph. it's smooth though
8. ride is a bit busy.
9. the headlights light up the road well.
10. the seats are excellent -- supportive, comfy and well-bolstered
11. the brakes feel a tad weak and don't inspire confidence

actually to get the 12-13kms to the liter of pure city driving with traffic (moderate or heavy), we sacrifice a 'little' (like, thermostat on 2nd level only, limiting the rev at less than or equal to 2K rpm, building your speed gradually..)

More fuel economy test results:
CITY DRIVING:
normal, typical city driving, light holiday traffic: #1: 9.7 km, 0.93 liter = 10.63 km/L
normal, typical city driving, light holiday traffic: #2: 48.5 km, 5.5599 liters = 8.72 km/L
normal, typical city driving with heavy Saturday traffic: 38.1 km, 5.000 liters = 7.62 km/L
CUMULATIVE CITY DRIVING: 96.3 km, 11.4899 liters = 8.38 km/L
HIGHWAY DRIVING:
romp through winding mountain roads with no traffic: 67.1 km, 3.82 liters = 17.57 km/L
day trip to Tagaytay Highlands, light to moderate traffic: 162.8 km, 10.45 liters = 15.58 km/L
day trip to Alabang City, light traffic from QC to Alabang but insane traffic from Alabang to Quezon City (Saturday): 76.0 km, 4.4699 liters = 17.00 km/L
CUMULATIVE HIGHWAY DRIVING: 305.9 km, 18.7399 liters = 16.32 km/L
now here's the really amazing thing that totally blew my mind...
i thought that the 8.72 km/L city figure we obtained was way too low considering that we drove gently and like how a typical motorist would drive on a usual commute. So we decided to do our own "econo-run" inside the city today, with the aircon at the warmest setting and sticking to basement revs...
and we got...
42.9 km, 0.77 liter = 55.71 km/L
i thought that it was impossible and that there must have been something wrong with the pump, so I asked the attendant to overfill the tank up to the neck (which isn't usually recommended) so I can see for myself that the pump indeed stopped at the right level. The tank took in an additional 1.93 liters to be filled up to the neck... which I think is a pretty fair "overflow" volume. So then, 0.77 liter must be indeed true!Last edited by mbt; November 28th, 2005 at 08:12 PM.

huwaw! galing!
too bad i can't use the econo-run driving mode kahit siguro jazz nga dala ko. i have a heavy right foot that can't restrain itself.
considering a Ferrari has an average price range of 20-25M. multiply that with 666 units sold then...
