wala na yun MOA between Honda and LTFRB. expired na yun nun '95 or '95 pa yata...during that time LTFRB will not grant you a taxi franchise kung honda kotse mo.
but ngayon once you paid for your car, you can do whatever you want on your car, walang pakialam ang Honda saiyo. hinde na sa kanila yun..
IIRC, I haven't sign anything when I bought my FD and CRV, yun sa warranty lang na they will refuse you service kung gagawin mong taxi yun car mo but that's about it. wala na silang pakialam doon.
ang dami-daming airport taxi na FD eh.
hinde lang cost effective gawin taxi ang Honda dahil meron naman ibang brand na mas mura...

There isn't any specific contract or agreement, AFAIK. However, Honda Phils. did stipulated that they will void the car's warranty (and even refuse sale of spare parts, not sure about this though) when it is used as a taxi. I know I read it in my warranty booklet about a year ago I think. Maybe I'll take another peek tonight.

^^^ If that's the case, I'm pretty sure that is illegal. Honda cannot refuse service if the owner is well within his rights as a buyer. Will research online for relevant jurisprudence regarding this.
Personally, I don't give a rat's a$$ if the FD is converted to a taxi, even if I own a Civic FD myself. Mga Honda fanboys lang naman ang sensitive sa ganyan.

I couldn't wait, so I went down to the basement to retrieve my warranty booklet. Here is what's written, verbatim, under Warranty Exclusions:
3. Any Honda vehicle which has been found out or determined to have participated in race/rally competition or which has been used as taxi or rental unit.
In the event that the unit is used per above-mentioned purposes, it shall automatically ceases to be covered by any existing warranty and the owner thereof shall not be allowed/entitled to purchase genuine Honda spare parts from any of the HCPI authorized dealers/outlets.

December 10th, 2009 02:07 PM #90Sa Panama bihira ako makakita ng Honda brand ke taxi siya or private use. Mas popular doon ang kia at hyundai brand. That was last year at least, aywan ko lang ngayon.
Sa Thailand once ako nakasakay sa taxi na Honda accord from Laem Chabang to Pattaya, that was maybe 4 years ago.
Ang pinakamarami na honda civic as taxi na nakita ko ay sa Keelung, Taiwan.
... interesting. does anyone have actual peso figures re. the leasing program, to compare with...
