I have a 93 all stock honda hatch. im planning to replace the engine to D15b, but i dont have any idea in technical aspect. im from Bulacan. san ba pwedeng legal na mkabili kasama ang installation ng engine? yung transmission ba need din palitan or kasama na sa engine yun pag binili? magkano ang estimated price ng engine at installation.

    Thanks sa magrereply.

this topic has been covered in greater detail before, i suggest you search using D15b as a search parameter.

d15b is a good match for your car. madami nagbbenta nito sa surplusan, price range is from 25-35k. your choice if you want to use the tranny that came with it (usually automatic) or convert to manual.

prepare maybe 40-50k for the whole swap including labor, engine, consumables, new engine oil, etc etc.

Just make sure when you buy the engine in Banawe and Evangelista has proper documentation on the surplus engine so in near future change engine processing you will not have problem at all . Bring trusted mechanic who know more about Honda engine.

newer a/t cars are really more fuel efficient because efi is available and engines now a days are optimized for fuel economy. so we can't compare an old a/t vehicle to a newer a/t vehicle

like what ts said his engine is a non vtec, so it would be a carburated engine(ts, correct me if i'm wrong that if it is not carburated) and those kind of engines are not yet optimized for fuel economy.

so that 7km/l figure is low but it is still acceptable.

we've had a box type sentra that has an a/t back in my high school days and it really has a higher fc. can't remember the exact figures because gas prices back then are just around php13/l. hehehe

anyone has an a/t car that is carburated? please share your experience.
