    Hello, CRV fam,

Im planning to purchase a used 2016 model sometime in the next few months. 2016 because its face lifted and matic version doesn't come with CVT tranny (or so I heard).

I need a vehicle that is spacious and comfortable for long (and frequent) drives.

How's your experience with CRVs power at the low end? I've heard its sluggish at low gear and likes to rev high, not until vtec kicks in. Is that true?
Concerned with overtaking and uphill on provincial roads.

Im actually torn between a 2016 Forester XT, 2.0 turbo AWD and 2016 CRV. More inclined with V because of reliability and maintenance.
I can get a pickup instead... But family, you know

    More power guys, cheers!

I think 2016 was the last year of the CRV 4th gen. It came with either a 2.0L NA engine (FWD) and a 2.4L NA engine (AWD), both models paired with a 5-speed AT tranny.

In 2017, the 5th gen came out and locally, it came either a 2.0L gas NA engine with CVT or the 1.6L turbo diesel with AT tranny.

If you need more power, get the Forester. CRV is no match when it comrs to overtaking if that's a primary concern for you.

I have a 2018 CRV 2.0 with CVT. Good for cruising, labored when overtaking with a full load.
