October 27th, 2015 08:27 PM #741It really depends on your needs. If you do not need a third row of seats, the CR-V should be more than enough in terms of space and comfort. You should check more than the mileage though. Evaluate any history of repairs, maintenance, etc to be extra sure. I am sure your friend would be willing to provide those documents/information for you. Knowing Honda though, it should have had only minimal problems as long as it was properly cared for.
Is this a 4x2 or 4x4? I think it is a decent price, especially if it is a 4x4. Some people are also put off by the fuel economy (5-8 km/l in the city, 9-11 km/l on the highway). But if you are okay with that, you are assured a smooth and quiet gasoline SUV.

November 16th, 2015 08:09 AM #748I have the second generation post-facelift version, and I find the power decent. The key really is to be rev happy with it. That way, you can get it to VTEC and get the power found in the higher rev ranges. That is the way most Honda engines are built anyway, so I personally see no reason to complain too much about fuel economy. If you want to get 7-8 km/l though, you have to be light on the throttle. I usually do not go over 2250 rpm when I try to be efficient, and it usually ends up in me being overtaken more often. But if you want more power, rev it up to 4000 rpm or so and you will be fine. Just be prepared to get 5-6 km/l from it. I have no issues with the transmission whatsoever, aside from the fact that it lacks gears compared to the one found in the succeeding generations. I am personally on the side hoping that they do not bring the CVT transmission here.
