+1 plus one of his question, bakit ka sa N nag start ng kotse? hinde mo maaalis yun key sa ignition pag wala sa P diba? kahit kailang never pa ako nag start sa N....anong incident na sa N ka nag start, hinde naman namamatayan ang matic unlike sa manual pag mali timpla

I am thinking the safety "switch" could be defective in the N position. Similar to my mom's FD, it wouldn't start at all but shifting up and down the A/T level a couple or so times lets the car start normally.

yeah P and N pwede mo start. now the question is bakit mo gusto mag start sa N? wala kasi kami makita reason aside from trip or troubleshooting lang.
although i agree with GH. yung saftety switch baka di gumagana sa N. try to browse toyota AT manuals. meron ako kaso di ko na tanda so ko nadownload sa net. its like me continuity lang ang starter when the lever is at P and N. baka nawala yung continuity sa N. hth
