February 9th, 2007 03:19 AM #15Cool hatch.
Pero like what's said above, I'd get a different vehicle for 2.2M.

That must be a modded SI to pull 208-218hp on a dyno, the average I have seen is about 160-165 stock since it's only rated at 197-200hp(depending on source) at the flywheel.
Heres a link to a dyno sheet for an SI with about 1200 miles on it.

Here's another with video.

That's at the hubs. It's an inertial dynapack which removes frictional losses from the roller-wheel interface by bolting straight to the hubs. Truthfuly, it tends to read high, but the readings do indicate good power. I've got an estimated 150+ hp with my mods, and my car reads 131-135 on the dynapack. The new 1.8 Civic reads 135, despite being rated at 140. Ouch.
I like the dynapack because it eliminates roller friction and slippage, camber oddities (camber can sometimes add 5 hp) and the effects of tire compounds and tire pressure. A roller dyno will tell you much more about what gets to the ground, but a dynapack is very useful for tuning because of these traits.
Still, 165 hp on a roller dyno is pretty good for any engine rated at 197. Regular WRXs usually get that much (rated at 235, but with bigger losses from increased AWD drag).

Oops. Looked at the link. Dynapack... That is bad for a new Honda... "tight" engine, perhaps? That calculates out (considering 5.5hp wheel loss inherent to rollers) to just 160 at the rollers, but about 190 at the flywheel only. Strange... dynapack numbers are usually consistent, no matter where in the country you are... We've gotten similar numbers for the 1.8 here to the ones on TOV Asia and TOV US (which posted the 204 hp dyno).Last edited by niky; February 9th, 2007 at 01:13 PM.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
3M Color Stable series are all above 50% TSER. RFID readable through the tint, stays good for...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
