it is in the Eye of the beholder. parehong gwapo yung vehicle. para sa akin mas appealing ang hatchback.

Yup sakin din "Hatchback" mas pogi. The Honda Jazz is the hatchback counterpart of the City. So might consider it also. Both of them have ivtec engines 1.3 MT/AT and 1.5 AT.

it really all depends on your preference. have both a city 1.5E and a fiesta 1.4 hatch. hope this helps anyone who has to choose between them.

suspension - fiesta has better suspension than a city. fiesta corners a lot better than a city

seats - fiesta are better on your back and butt; on a long drive, you'll end up with a sore butt and back on a city. tried and tested both on long drives.

plastics - fiesta's are better because the black plastics on the city easily gets scuffed and have to be maintained far oftener than the fiesta's

steering - fiesta has it way lighter than the city. after using the fiesta you'd be able to compare how light its steering is.

ride height - fiesta has a higher ride height and you don't have to watch out for the humps. city driver's can't deny how low the front bumper is, and how low the car in general is. just look at any city out there and you'd find that a lot of them have scratches on the lower part of their front bumpers.

exterior looks - fiesta because i prefer hatches over sedans. but still love the looks of the city because of how good the lines are.

trunk space - fiesta because i look at trunk space as utility and basing it on weight and not simply bulk. though the city may have a gigantic trunk, still the seats don't fold down. the fiesta seats fold down but they don't fold flat so you get more space on a fiesta.
the city can take in large and light objects but it isn't as capable with heavier objects. the fiesta can take in small but heavier objects because the weight is supported by the shocks and springs which are just below it. with the city heavier objects cause the trunk to dip.

fuel efficiency - not for comparison because of the difference in displacement and transmission. but for those curious, fiesta's more fuel efficient.

sound insulation - fiesta. nothing beats a european car when it comes to sound insulation

interior space - city. well, most japanese cars have really spacious interiors. a city has a center console which doesn't come standard in a fiesta. the city also has an elegant interior compared to the fiesta's sportier interior.

visibility - city. its got bigger windows so you see better. a fiesta doesn't match a city's visibility especially if you're going left on a T intersection.

transmission - not for comparison. the fiesta clutch is light and the gears hold well and you can stay in gear for a little longer than other manuals. not really that a problem in standstill traffic because you can slowly release the clutch without having to step on the gas and the car moves. the city's automatic transmission is just like any automatic transmission - no need to shift gears. paddle shifters are responsive enough but you won't find much use for them. also, the city is slow, very slow from a dead start.

value for money - between lower ends. i'd still go for the fiesta. it has abs and ebd which the city has only on the 1.5E. there's no need for airbags if you're able to stop quicker.

parts - you only have to go the casa and place an order. these cars aren't exotic that finding parts would be a problem.

resale value - too early to tell; many factors to be considered. let's not kid ourselves too much co-honda owner's. there isn't much prestige when your sitting in your honda and the motorcycle or tricycle beside you is also a honda.

reliability - too early to tell. both models are relatively new so we'd have to wait.

maintenance - both have to go to a casa anyway every 10,000 kms or 6 months.

steering - both are precise, but the feedback's better on the fiesta because of its size and suspension

brakes - fiesta has ebd as standard. it makes up for having drum brakes compared to the disc brakes of the 1.5E city.

the rest are options which differ from person to person. hope i've covered the basics.
