Mga Sirs, I need your help on my Honda Civic SR3 (Hatchback) carburator...

The car has rarely been used for the past year & a half (once a week lang...) kasi may bago kaming Avanza. Now when I start the car, the idling is way too high, and eventually, bumababa siya to normal idling speed pero minsan (actually madalas...) umaakyat siya uli. Sabi ng mechanic ko patignan ko daw yung mga spring ng carburator kasi maganit na daw (nag i-i-stuck-up) and baka kailangan nang palitan. We tried using WD-40 on the springs pero ganoon pa rin.

Anyway, as a side note, a couple of years ago I bought a gas saving device na nakakabit sa carburator pero walang effect kasi may diperensya na daw ang carburator ko. Pero puede pa naman daw siya kaya lang hindi na ganoon ka-efficient.

So, I'm thinking na baka time na para palitan ko na ng bago (or reconditioned) yung carburator ng hatchback ko. I'm hoping that some of you may have cost-effective solutions for this like saan kaya ako makabili ng murang reconditioned carburator ng honda sr3? Or baka may ma-recommend kayo na carburator specialist (baka puede pang ma-overhaul or ma-recondition itong carburator ko)? I used to go to AM Carburator Specialists at Kamuning Road (near Judge Jimenez st.) but haven't been there for a really long time now and don't know if the old guys (Ricky & Caloy) are still there.

Its normal to a car with carburated engine that when you start at first(cold) engine will rev up then it came back down when the carburator wams up same w/ injector too. You can call that also a fast idle. Now if doing this even in operating temperature(hot) probably a vacuum leak. Listen to idling engine for a hissing noise, look for any broken, loose, vacuum hoses, many mechanics have a smoke machine, this is the best way to find a leak.....there are also many other possible causes, but this is the most common.

For the mean time, why not clean the carburator with carb cleaner. Like you said COST EFFECTIVE. Pull the air cleaner top off start your engine and spray in your carb.you will have to hold the throttle linkage and give it some gas each time you spray in carb throttle so the engine wont stall. Its easy to use just follow the direction on the can.
