you should be getting more than 10km per liter. the lowest i got was 9km per liter from a 1.3 and 7km per liter from an 1.8 car and my driving style is very very agressive (3500-5500 rpm).

Try having the ECU and injectors checked first. try having it dyno tested too, maybe there is something in the drivetrain that is causing a big resistance.
