For those of you guys who had or having an Honda engine swap that has no other things to do with their old motor.

My EG's engine broke down last Aug and its been sittin at the garage for more than 2 months. I'm looking for a PH16A Vtech 1 engine to replace it.

I got no plans of racing it "Pamilyado na kasi" so I dont wanna buy D15b's or other high performance engines out there. I just wanna give it a new life.

    Regards

    PEACE

the d15b is not, strictly speaking, a performance engine. it just has the potential, and go-fast parts for it are quite plentiful.

i would choose this engine over a local surpus ph16. if its a true d15b then its from japan and its got complete paperz, easier to register in LTO. with local ph16s, unless its from a reputable seller, then you may not know if its from a chopped up stolen car, or a write off from the insurance company. plus, it could have seen a lot more miles... lammo naman mga honda sedan users dito, hehe.

you will need an engine, a box (ECU), tranny (i would get an automatic), maybe some wiring done to fit. some shops offer an all-in price, sila na mag swap at papa andarin, some will just give you an engine bahala ka na kung paano mo iuwi (these should be cheaper, btw).

second ko lang po ung sinabi ni sir voltscastillo. tama po tlga un.get a d15b instead of a ph16. mas matipid pa po ito sa gas consumption since it has a lower displacement. hope nakaabot comments namin.

If it's a hatch, oks na yung ph16 efi from the esi. Gaan naman yan eh so ramdam mo ang power kahit walang vtec. And since hindi hirap yung engine dahil lightweight car, mas tipid sa gas.

If it's a sedan, well mas oks siguro yung d15b. I for one have this on an eg sedan. Tipid sa gas pero generous sa hatak. Lots of low-end torque, meaning you don't have to gas hard especially on stop-go traffic. That means gas savings. Plus, it has vtec.
