Go for stock units. Yung tipong, hindi pa nagalaw ang engine. ;)

This, I have to disagree. I have a Toyota ( '96 AE101 ) and a Honda ( '07 FD ), the former is serving me well. Giving me no major headaches. And AE92, walang bulutong issues. And AE92, cheaper in maintenance & ang AE92, mas malaki in terms of space.

Win lang talaga ang Honda in terms of style.

    Please don't be biased. ;)

aaah.. ganun pala yun.. dapat talaga stock engine sya.. yung iba po kasi na napapansin ko, nka b series yung engine or d series.. e hindi pa po ako masyado pamilyar when it comes to engines.. based sa mga nakikita ko sa ads nun mga nag bebenta, mas maganda ata yun d series na makina.. correct me if i'm wrong.. hehe

I also disagree to this point "Panget ibang brand"

to TS, buy and sell ako ng second hand car for almost 4 years but I sell only 2 brand toyota GLI and honda ESI and hatch both are the top of the line during on it's age, share ko lang mga na experience ko

    Honda ESI and hatch:
    Pros:
    1. Better fuel economy - comparison between the stock engine, since am not buying a raced/modified engine specially honda.
    2. Exterior and Interior - I agree that most of my buyers amazed lalo na kung JDM ang nasetup ko.
    3. Easier to resell - Most of the time buyers are like you, prefer ang HONDA brand.
    4. Expensive Modifications - endless modifications because of it's neverending availability of aftermarket parts.

    Cons:
    1. Chassis Problem - Prone sa bulutong
    2. Sensor Problem - Most of the time may sira sensors, check engine light appears as you can see honda forums issue ito.
    3. Cooling System - Prone to overheat kung di masyado aalagaan unlike toyota.
    4. Service Issue - Either CASA or sa ibang talyer kapag HONDA mas mahal ang labor/service.
    5. OEM Parts - Really Expensive unlike toyota parts.
    6. Interior Room - toyata AE101 is roomier than EG and Hatch.

    Toyota GLI AE101
    Pros:
    1. Age - Even an old Age AE101 mas madaling i maintain either exterior and interior
    3. Chassis - No bulutong Issues on this model.
    4. Parts - Mura mga Parts even OEM and aftermarket.
    5. Engine - More reliable and longer life, hindi sirain ang makina.

    Cons:
    2. Poor Fuel Economy for GLI - mostly mas natitipiran ako sa ESI and Hatch sa lahat ng na buy and sell ko. this model giving me only 8-9km/liter while ESI gives me 10-12km/liter
    3. Availability of aftermarket - Since your into porma look, maliit ang chances na makakuha ka ng murang pyesa nito unlike sa honda na maraming surplus condition para mura.

sa ngayon eto lang mai-contribute ko based on what i have experienced sa 3 models na nahawakan ko...and if you gonna ask me kung ilan na nahawakan ko para maicompare ko sila, maybe around 10 or more na ang honda including hatch nabili at nabenta ko and 15 or more nmn sa toyota.

if I were you since you have a limited budget for your car go for toyota GLI, malaki na budget mo for 180k and take note buying a second hand car, assume mo na may extra pocket ka for repairs. why toyota? sa daming second hand car selling sa forums/ads compare mo na mas sariwa ang mga toyota. wala yan sa mileage wag lang sobrang laki. it only matters how it has been cared by the previous owner. believe me hindi ako mag ririsk ng puhunan kung alam ko malaki ang magagastos lang sa pagpapagawa ang kotse.

i am a honda fan kasi nga astig ang looks i'd go for looks kasi over comfortable since ako lang and my partner using the car. pero astig din ang toyota lalo na sa tight budget

if you'd go to a toyota, mags, lowering, interior detail lang make it simple ok na...

eg hatchback: is it still worth buying nowadays?
