upsss... i even posted the same problem. my car is vtec 99. same ang problem ko, tumataas ang temp which is very unusual. you may serach for: http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=81

    or

tumataas ang temperature at hard starting kapag mainit ang makina

sa honda talk forums. hoping that we'll get the resolution for this kind of issue. nagpa estimate ako ng top overhaul, 15k including valve seal, piston rings, cylinder head gasket and reface of cylinder. pero try mo rin magpacheck-up sa honda spa sa tandang sora. honda specialist sila, para ma diagnose at mabigyan ng estimate.

btw, the car isn't overheating naman but i sure want to stop the constant refilling of the reservoir because it means there is something wrong w/ the cooling system of my vti

Waahh.. Eto rin prob ko. Okay naman daw lahat naka-2 rows pa ako na radiator. Nagpalit na rin ako ng elbow ng rad hose.

Talaga bang top overhaul na lang katapat???

nakup! pare-pareho pala tayo ng problema. dami ko napagtanungan na shops, talagang sakit na nga ito ng vti. dami ko na napagawa sa oto ko to fix overheating or temp rising. ngayon ok na, it was just a thermo switch. i had to get an oem switch because it has the exact heat range to turn on the radiator fan. yung raplacement thermo switch iba daw ang range. mga sir, just refer to the info below for your reference, 'yan yung mga napagawa ko na. hope it helps.

    - replaced radiator to brass, no leaks
    - radiator overhauled
    - 0.9 radiator cap
    - radiator hoses are intact
    - no thermostat attached
    - oem thermo switch
    - top overhaul = cylinder head gasket replaced, cylinder head refaced, valve seals, ang mali ko ay hindi ko pa pinalitan yung piston rings, tsk tsk
    - grounding kit sinama ko na rin

so far, hindi na siya nag ooverheat or high temp when driving. even in higher speed. 'yun nga lang nag hahard starting ako pag mainit yung makina. it seems that i need to replace my piston rings. starter is already replaced at maganda ang sipa. so malamang-lamang top overhaul! ang gastos! hehe.

make sure na kapag magpapa top overhaul kayo isama niyo na ang piston rings, valve seals, reface. not sure kung meron pang iba pero yan ang basic sa top overhaul.
