Mga Sir,
Having problem with long drive. Pag nasa city ok lang temperature. Pero pag long drive tulad to Pangasinan, from Balintawak to Dau - ok lang po, pero pagdating po ng SCTEX tumaas po hanngang malapit na sa pula. Neutral ko po yung A/T then free wheeling tapos baba temperature. Tapos drive nanaman po.
Any thoughts po. Radiator, Thermostat, Temp Sender or Coolant.
By the way, tubig lang po nakalagay. 1996 Accord Exi Premiere Ed po.
Salamat po ng marami.

April 4th, 2011 04:12 AM #457Assuming that you have no leaks or defects in the cooling system and you used only water, the temperature will really rise during long drives. You need to add coolant at about a 50:50 ratio. Coolant raises the boiling temperature of plain water preventing overheating. Better if you mix it with distilled water so you won't have mineral deposits clogging your cooling system.

ako plain distilled water lang din gamit ko for 3 years na since i got my ride. and mine is also an a/t. never did i encounter a raise in temp even on long drive and i usually take that route to pangasinan. very stable yung temp ko even on the hottest time of the day.
since sabi mo na bumaba yung temp pag nag neutral ka, try checking the coolant passage going through the tranny. alam ko may dumadaloy ding coolant dun sa tranny natin eh. check mo lang.

April 7th, 2011 02:42 PM #459how can i increase the cooling power ng accord ko? nahihinaan kasi kami. always set to 4 yung a/c. cold sa paglabas ng vents pero still not sufficient enough to cool the entire cabin (front passengers lang kaya mapalamig ng onti). mainit siyempre pero napaka bagal nya magpalamig ng buong cabin. i'm just new to this car for 2 months na pero kahit friends ko nagdududa sa cooling power niya. my friend's 2003 lancer can cool the entire cabin for a good temperature at fan #1 kapag normal init sa labas and #2 kapag mainit talaga, while ako dapat #3 kapag normal init sa labas at #4 kapag sobra talaga init sa labas. meron daw binago dad ng friend ko sa lancer nila kaya ganun pero di niya pa nalalaman ano. baka kasi pwede rin yun magawa sa accord namin
