Guys!
I have a 1st Gen CRV. The problem is, after about 10 km of driving, bluish white smoke starts to come out from the tail pipe. Wala namang usok kapag start up. Normal exhaust na may kasamang steam kapag umaga. The bluish white smoke comes out only after a while and is very obvious during idle.
From my research on the internet, valve seals daw ang problema. Sabi naman ng iba baka daw piston rings. My mechanic says that the the valve seals may be replaced without removing the cylinder head but he recommends that we just remove the cylinder head and perform what he calls "grind valve" or something like that. But that would mean that the head gasket has to be replaced as well. The catch is what if the piston rings is the problem? Then uulitin na naman ang job after a while.
Is there a way to be sure that the piston rings are still ok or needs replacement?
Kapag ba dinikut yung pistons kailangan ding ibaba yung tranny?
