April 13th, 2011 02:07 PM #1Mga Sir, patulong po ulet....
Eto panibagong milagro sa oto ko. Ilang beses na nangyari na pag start sa morning, hindi agad nawawala ang ilaw ng battery indicator sa dashboard then tumataas ang temp gauge up to about 3/4 after about 5 mins. Stationary pa lang ang oto nyan. Hindi pa tumatakbo. Checked if overheat, hindi naman (no boiling and no release of water from rad to expansion tank). Saka kaka-start pa lang so parang mahirap isipin na overheat na agad. Ocassionaly, nangyayari din to pag tumatakbo at lower speed and RPM at less than 1000 (based on my observation). Nawawala ang ilaw ng battery once i revved the engine and then unti unti na rin nag-no-normal ang temp gauge.
I brought it to the mechanic and unfortunately, hindi nagpakita ang "milagro" na to. Inconsistent talaga ang paglabas. Pag marami-rami na akong napuntahan for the day usually hindi na nagpapakita.
The radiator has been cleaned just about 2 months ago. The rad cap is new (Federal Mogul). No leak anywhere. Fan is working (malakas pa ang buga ng hangin and nag-o-automatic pa naman) although I'm not sure if it is starting and stopping to run at the right time.
Dinala ko rin sa battery shop to check and ok pa naman daw ang battery and the one who checked it also told that wala naman daw problema sa wiring.
I would really appreciate your inputs on this. Thanks in advance.

with the alternator in this condition, the battery is not receiving sufficient charging current ... that sooner or later, battery gets discharged ... sooner if you use your headlights with the aircon

how's your engine thermostat? baka hindi na maayos umandar nakastuck ng matagal sa closed position... which means na yung tubig sa block hindi umiikot sa radiator causing your temp to shoot up.
re: the batt indicator light, i think sa alternator yan. baka pudpod na yung carbon brush sa loob, you may opt to have this replaced or just buy a surplus from japan.

Good day sir! Nangyari na po sa akin before yan. I was driving a 1995 Mitsu Galant VR V6 then. Ilaw yung battery then temperature to 3/4 pero hindi sya overheat. Sir alternator po problem nyan most likely. Baka nasira na po yung regulator nya. when i had mine checked, sira daw yung regulator pumapalo ng 17 volts yung output ng alternator. I ended up having my alternator replaced. Naging ok na po auto ko after.

No prob sir, actually pwede rin sa mga battery shops. what you can do is, with the engine running, have the technician check your battery voltage. The normal range should be between 13-13.8V when the engine is running. That means the alternator is charging the battery with the correct voltage. When i had mine checked, the voltmeter read 17+ volts being fed to the battery from the alternator.

April 19th, 2011 09:08 PM #10alternator nga po ang culprit! May mga tama na yung coil. Meron ng mga sunog. Got it replaced so hopefully maayos na talaga.
