Try some minor uphill roads. Suggestion would be the road to Antipolo church. I`ve done it several times using my stock 1.3L sedan, no sweat. What more if you're using an SiR ?
I`ve overtaken some vehicles during the uphill drive, just a little press on the accelerator pedal is needed. And, I never reach 4th gear during the uphill trip. 1-2-3-2-1 lang. :bwahaha:
And, yeah there are some corners too during the trip ... some sharp some are not. Great place to test your skills.

March 5th, 2010 07:32 PM #42Ako I never had a problem uphill with my SiR.

March 6th, 2010 09:59 AM #43I think so.

I'd been driving my CIVIC VTi for 10 years now at ang nakakaovertake lang sakin sa NLEX ay ung mga SUV na malalaki (but not all of them), BMWs and SiRs... ung corolla problem mo panis yan sa SiR mo unless upgraded ung makina nung corolla.. pero kung stock racing between those two iiwnana mo un... I can overtake a corolla GLi with my CIVIC VTi it should be a piece of cake for your SiR
Cornering.. all of the suggestions on the previous page are great! Pero you can always take a corner without even using ur brakes to save your RPM by doing engine brake. Downshift ka lang pero alalay ka not to redline your RPM... you will know this by practicing with your stock car. Do not modify ur engine yet if you still don't know how to handle ur stock car. Sobrang madali magpatakbo ng matulin but braking is the most difficult part. Pag mali ka ng brake its either you might lose control of your car and rear end someone or someone my rear end you by braking too soon without looking at your rear view mirror.
I'm only 27yrs old right now and I guess I'm more responsible when driving. Unlike when I was only 18yrs old lahat kinakarera ko kahit pulis inoovertakan ko sobrang aggressive ko noon... luckily hindi ako naaksidente sa kalokohan ko hehe!
For now my only advice to you don't go fast unless you need to... race only to a controlled environment but I won't stop you from doing it on the road kasi ndi ako epokrito hehe! I did it before doing 140kph or higher sa edsa but still I'm just lucky hindi ako naaksidente... I guess experience thought me how to drive my car fast and at the same time be a defensive driver.
There is no shame in driving on a slow speed atleast maingat at alam mo ang limit mo. Wag kang gumaya sa mga taong alam nila hindi kaya pero tuloy padin at alam nila na delikado ung gagawin nilang pag overtake tutuloy padin... example palagi akong nang oovertake but not on a blind curve... tignan mo nangyari kay Vandolf.. namatay GF nya dahil nangovertake sya sa blind curve... kay Richard Gutierrez... he almost died with his actions...
Anyways, enjoy ur SiR! But be safe... take it one step at a time...
P.S.
I'm not sure if everyone will agree with me but for me, you can only be the best driver unless you had an accident while driving. I had my close calls and a few fender bender... thank God hangang dun lang... but it made me wiser :D

VTEC needs several factors for it to engage: the engine has to be in normal operating temperature (warmed up and not from a cold start), there has to be sufficient oil pressure since VTEC engagement is hydraulic, and the engine has to be loaded (in gear).

Medyo hindi yata ok yan bro. Gaya ng sabi mo, if you know it's a blind curve. why will you still overtake if you already know that accident can happen. For some, you need to experience it to learn but there are things you don't wanna try before you learn from it. Just be a defensive driver always. Not only you will benefit but also your loves one's too..
3M pa rin for me. I will only look at other brands if the quotation from the official distributor...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
