September 5th, 2009 09:51 PM #11Marami pong salamat.

Brand new, the RS is a good vehicle... with durability comparable to most other Japanese cars... since it's a Mazda.
But... since the earliest RS's are approaching five years of age, there's bound to be some issues that need addressing... like niggling suspension issues and worn transmission links... depending on how rough the previous owner was on the car... and since the RS is as fun to drive as the SiR... most are driven very roughly indeed. How rough? I know one guy who blew his engine while over-revving it on the racetrack (note, this happens to SiRs, too... I know two guys who have done this with their B16s...)... another who blew his engine by pegging it at redline for hours on end on the highway (the RS redlines at its top-speed... around 210-220 km/h). And there are the guys who blew engines by going turbo. (yes, this happens to Hondas, too)
Suffice to say... if you want an RS... find one that's bone-stock and driven by a grandma.
One other issue is that it's a 2.0, it's registered as a luxury car, not a regular car, at the LTO, and registration costs more.
On the bright side... Parts costs are decent, and it doesn't have those killer, hard-to-find parts like the gut-damn distributor on the Mazda626 that's so expensive to replace... ...the RS may have the same engine block as the 626, but the electronics and engine accessories for it are as easy to get as for the 1.6 Ford Lynx... and they're just as cheap.
Fuel economy is decent for a 2.0... in fact, better than the 1.6 AT Lynx... it's comfortable to drive, except for the clutch... and it loves both the open highway and the twisty mountain roads that make provincial driving fun.
I love mine, and I plan never to part with it. I've probably ruined it by fitting a suspension that's too hard, a clutch that's too stiff and an exhaust that's too loud, but it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
But would I recommend it as a first car? Nope. If your budget is 400k, get yourself a decent secondhand worth 250k, spend some of the change on dressing it up... then spend the rest on minor repairs over the next two years.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

September 6th, 2009 05:18 AM #13what are those cars? nag check po ako kanina about dun sa sinabi mo, I found Honda VTI 1996 - 1998 better kesa sa Nissan Sentra at Lovelife. I mean, pasok sa mga needs ko. Ok po ba yun? Fc, parts at iba pa? I want kasi all power. Mukhang wala masyado gumagamit sa road not like Hondas and Toyota, napakarami na. Anyway, last na po itong inquiry ko. Sana po masagot ulit.
Marami pong salamat.
Sa uulitin..
