Hmmm, TopGear PH mentioned it's the same engine

Unfortunately, the engine options bring me back to earth. None of the exciting diesel or turbocharged powerplants are arriving, and we get basically the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder mill as the previous generation, good for 118hp and 145Nm. I suspect cost considerations prevented HCPI from bringing in the more powerful engines.

Same engine (L15) but it's DOHC (L15B) vs the older SOHC (L15A).

Only the RS variant gets fog lights as standard. The other variants don't.

You can install an aftermarket one for a lot less than what you will pay for the RS model.

True. So I guess for me the V variant would give the most value for money over the others.

Even the most basic S already has an 8" touch screen (better than Civic and CRV lol), traction control, and 4 airbags.

The V adds push button ignition, bigger rims, climate control, leather steering wheel, cruise control, and rear aircon vents. Justifiable 90k upgrade over the S.

Even the RS will have its fair share of buyers - LED headlights, nicer rims, 8 speakers, 2 more airbags, more leather bits, a different front fascia. Again a justifiable 90k upgrade over the V.

Then again, the Civic 1.8E is just 140k more than the City RS so still a worthy upgrade if budget allows.

For some weird reason, even the S has engine push start button but no smart entry. You have to manually lock/unlock using the remote.

    what's "smart entry" ?
is that when the car door unlocks to your hand's touch when the key fob is within xx feet of the car?
in my opinion, unless one's car is in one's garage or parked alone in public parking, that's potentially dangerous.
not that smart, in my opinion.
