Maybe Honda PH thinks Pinoys have more buying power than the people in Qatar.

Yeah, it is most likely the taxes but if other manufacturers can price the same category of vehicles for almost 1M less then Honda PH might be able to do something about their pricing.

With such a price, you can take home an Accord and CRV or Mazda6 and CX5. It is much like Toyota pricing the new TOTL RAV4 for 2.1M when most of the competition is around 400k less.

The City is priced competitively, so are the CRV and Accord. The HRV, Jazz, and Civic are slightly overpriced for whay they offer, and this is where Honda's "premium" pricing comes in.

But the Legend and Pilot are on a totally different level altogether. Priced like they're trying their best not to sell.

Maybe Honda PH would like them to be display queens in their dealerships. Lovely to look at but too pricey to be bought.

the previous gen pilot was made in north america and had a 3.5 liter engine and priced at 2.5 million.

this new model is also made in north america and has a 3.5 liter engine and priced at 3.4 million

i highly doubt the taxation angle....

The new Accord 3.5L shares the same engine as the Pilot but it is priced at 2M. Not sure if such Accord 3.5L are CBU from either US or Japan but a similar price of 2.5M for the new Pilot would have been much more reasonable and more competitive in the segment.
