Any reviews on the power and fuel consumptions on the 2.0li R-series engine?
Read from several American publications that the 2.4li K-series is underpowered and it makes me wonder what more if its the 2.0li. Right now in the absence of any local tests and feedbacks, between the two engines, I would get the 2.0li bec. the 2.4li is still based on the "old" K-series which is best known for its over generous sipping of fuel. The 2.0li is based on the R-series which is derived from the 1.8li from the FD Civic, which has decent fuel consumption rates.
The CRV seems to be a nice vehicle to get BUT I'm not a big fan of the VTEC engine series. Generally speaking and based on my experience with previous generation VTEC engines, they do not have the same low-end grunt when compared with Toyota's VVTi engines, so you'd have to rev the Honda hard just to extract a bit of juice out of it. This as we all know affects the engine's fuel efficiency.Last edited by number001; April 10th, 2007 at 10:31 PM.
