1/2 temp after several minutes of use

Normal lang yan. Its how your cooling sysytem was designed. When your engine is cold, the thermostat is closed. This prevents water from enetering the radiator to warm it up quickly. When you reach the correct operating temp, the thermostat opens and allows the water to be cooled by the radiator. This is done to keep your car in its best operating temp. A cold engine is not efficent, a engine that is too hot will overheat and will be damaged.

Have your cooling sysytem checked. I will start with the fans and radiator. Baka barado ang radiator. If it is a dirty or clogged radiator, a radiator overhaul should fix it. If fans are old, they tend to become less efficient. Replacing the fans should do it. Inspect your hoses at the same time.

+1 although in this case a blocked radiator is most likely the culprit. If your fans arent working properly your temp will go up when stuck in traffic. Have your radiator cleaned but watch out for leaks when they put it back together. Those old plastic tops can crack

Pa'no naman po kung ganito ang case:

- lumalampas ang temp sa kalahati up to about 3/4 nung gauge during daytime driving, pero pag binitawan ang silinyador, bumabalik sa normal.

- Pag naka-idle lang during daytime, like pag heavy traffic, everything's normal.

- Pag mahabang uphill o paahon, tumataas ang temp hangga't hindi nagiging patag ulit ang daan. Kasi pag level na ulit ang kalsada at pwede nang mag-ease up sa silinyador e bumababa ulit ang temp.

- Seems like long, continuous accelerating heats the engine up during daytime.

- These things don't happen pag sa gabi ginagamit ang auto.

- Car's a Civic ESi matic, PH16 stock engine.

Bka naman napalitan mo na ang thermo switch mo e baka ang naipalit mo ay hindi original dapat original, kasi pag local hindi tama ang timing ng cooling sytem sa computer mo dapat original ang ipalit mo na thermo switch.

Mga Sir, sae problem. pero yong sa akin, umaabot talaga ng High, pero di naman siya over-heat... ano kaya problem don? radiator, stock e. tapos, yong auxillary fan, medyo nahina na...

try removing your thermostat then drive it uphill. kung hindi tumataas ang temp it means thermostat ang prob. have it replaced.
kung ok ang thermostat, the next thing to check is your radiator. drain your radiator and fill it up with water without the drain plug. tingnan nyo kung malakas ang agos ng water. kung mahina it means may bara ang rad nyo have it overhauled. kung ok ang themostat at radiator, Thermoswitch naman ang i rekta mo. this will turn the radiator fan continously, make sure to check if your fan is working properly, then drive it uphill and observe kung tumataas ang temp.

if all of them are ok, your last culprit would be your water pump. maybe it doesn't deliver much water or coolant from your rad to your engine when going uphill.

you will need to check it one by one. patience is important on dealing with your car's cooling system. hth..
