two weeks ago was my first time to get apprehended. Sa SLEX approaching Alabang, sa dami ng mga mababagal na trucks sa fast lane, napilitan na lang ako mag-shoulder. Unfortunately, may mga PNCC na nakaabang. I know it was really my bad, so i readily accepted the ticket without any argument! But i pointed out na dapat apprehend din nila stupid drivers sa fast lane. Sabi ko kung maluwag ang fast lane, wala dadaan sa shoulder! wala rin, ticket pa rin. hehehe

Now, here's a semi-OT and semi-RANT (my experience in claiming back my license sa LTO East Ave):

What was CLEARLY printed on the ticket is that within 72hours, dapat report sa LTO East Ave. Nahuli ako wednesday morning, so friday morning, i went to east ave (layo nun ah! - taga laspinas ako). Laking sakrispisyo! Pagdating dun, tagal ako pila tapos sabihan ako wala pa raw license ko dun!!! I made a scene saying hinuhuli nila mga gumagawa ng mali, pero ginagawa naman nila di rin tama. Pwede pa naman daw kahit wala lisensya till 15 days!!!

I went back a week after... pila ulit. nandun na. so bayad muna. tapos may lumapit na fixer, sabi bayaran ko na lang daw seminar/exam. Sabi ko bakit and ang sagot baka daw mag-fail ako exam! HAHAHA Sabi ko board exam ipinasa ko, yan pa! Iniwan ko kumag.

Sa seminar room - what the heck! anong seminar? may props sila na TV at VHS na di gumagana - sira siguro. Pag pasok ko, binigyan agad ako test booklet. sagutan ko raw. Ibang klase talaga!

Finally, after 3-4 hours, i got my license back!

Was the test easy? Common sense? Can be answered without prior study/prep? What is an example of the questions. How many questions? Multiple choice?

Did they check your answers and tell you your score and tell you which questions you answered wrong?

Was that 3-4 hours total (from time of arrival at LTO)?

It seems that in most of the stories, people's licenses get confiscated. But in the two times that I have been recently ticketed, my license was not confiscated and I only had to pay at a Metrobank.

Does whether the license get confiscated or not depend on the offense? Is it clear in the rules when the license is and when it is not to be confiscated?

Or is it at the 'discretion' of the enforcer.

    1. The exam was easy. Yup, common sense questions and a lot deals with road signs, signals, etc. 70 items yata yun, all multiple choice.

    2. Right after the exam, check naman nila agad, while you were out and NO, you'll not find out the result (i didnt ask). Perfect ko yata. :jump:

    3. I arrived at LT around 8am, i left the place lunch time na yata

Unknowingly early one Thursday morning (around 8:30am) just drive to buy some medicine for somebody, was apprehended by a traffic enforcer... coding violation yan = Php 500 (my first pa lang).

Baguio has the same coding system as Manila (Monday 1-2 prohibited, Tuesday 3-4, ..., Friday 9-0), right?

Supposedly, visitor's can get a one-day exemption/pass for P300 by going to City Hall?

But what if you get caught before you can get to City Hall?

When the bribing stops, the corruption can too.

Do remember that we are dealing with people under the sun all day, exposed to all elements and are lucky to earn maybe 10k per month. Of course, they'd be so tempted to take bribes given their financial needs. Not that i am giving them reasons or anything but if bribing is stopped in the first place, corruption maybe forgotten in the process because it was cut at the source of money - motorists.

In case of kotong cops, you can always report them. There are so many agencies and media dealing with these crooks in uniforms.

Who has never bribed a cop? Is that a necessary evil?
