Another news report says the pickup got hit from behind by the bus following it. Na-pit maneuver kaya it rolled and went into the opposite lanes.

If there is they haven't released it, but this still from the second news report shows that the bus did indeed have contact on the front:

If it's true then the initial GMA Integrated News report was incredibly bad journalism. Not only did they show the last moments of that poor woman, they also ended up painting the pickup driver as the culprit when it seems he was as much a victim here as those unfortunate passengers of the car.

Imagine if the bus speed limit is raised to 120kph.
Malamang twice the damage kalabasan ng accident na ganyan.
Ok lang if yung mga sports car ng mga politico ang babanggain nila.

With regards to the proposed raising of the speedlimits, the proposed new limits are kinda too high.

120kph for cars and other light vehicles should be fine.

Large vehicles like cargo trucks and busses should keep at 80kph max and stay in their own lane(s).

Medyo slight off-topic pero how do we deal with the heavy EV vehicles? EVs are roughly twice heavier than their ICE equivalents due to batteries. So in an accident/crash, EVs would have twice the kinetic energy to plow through anything.

in slex, buses aren't allowed on the leftmost lane, and buses are dictated a maximum speed (60 kph?).
    how is it in nlex/sctex?

    should be the same.
according to a person i talked to before who knew of the speed radars and enforcers in SCTEX/NLEX, They are very strict with the speed of Buses and Trucks. 2 kph over the limit daw automatic huli while cars are given several percentage speed leeway.

True with the speed and weight of EV's that accidents could be a problem but all EV are usually equipped with modern Safety technologies (ADAS and the like) unlike the Buses and Trucks that ply our Roads.
Trucks and Buses are also way heavier than EV's and EV's tend not to roll over due to the low placement of the batteries.
