Too many PASAWAY motorcycle RIDERS on the street

Let me just reiterate how a lot of these MC riders are imbeciles.

You leave a relatively safe amount of space to brake but they take it as their cue to cut in -- so close to you at that that you don't see their brake lights! Patingin-tingin pa ng masama kapag natutukan mo and/or nabusinahan mo. Hello?! Natural matututukan ka, eh allowance ko dapat yun para maipreno ko yung malaki kong sasakyan. G*go! Buti nga naipreno pa nang hindi ka ginulungan!

You see a family of 5, at night, with either the father or mother wearing helmets criss crossing traffic. Sometimes, the helmets are even arm accessories only! Punyemes!

That they don't know or they totally ignore. Damn this type of motorcycle drivers....😈

Why don't they just drive straight????

Why do they have to cut a tad in front of you????? ... and deprive you of your braking distance allowance!!!!!!!

this one takes the cake... at around 4 pm yesterday (Sunday).... halfway up the flyover in EDSA (magallanes going to Tramo).. a motorcycle rider comes barreling down the right lane (remember this is a one way flyover)...... at speed pa... naka head on sa akin... binbaran ko ng busina and nag taas lang ng kamay WTF! sarap tuluyan... kaya lang van ang dala ko... bka lumusot sa windshield.

I'm at wits end figuring out bakit ginawa yun... its either sobrang tanga and tamad if he went up the wrong flyover... or baka may na banga or gasgasan on the bridge and decided to counterflow to avoid his victim...

Either way... maba-bait pa rin ang mga car owners... otherwise hs family would be picking up pieces of him...

Admittedly, with the rising cost of fuel comes the need for a more fuel efficient mode of transport. Notice that even if car sales have been picking up lately, motorcycle sales have been flying off the roof. Why? Affordability and greater mobility for the common pinoy.

It really becomes a problem when every motorbike owner thinks that all roads are motogp racetracks and his souped up (or stickered/plastidip/bling) machine is a metal race stallion ready to charge at the sight of the green light. Reading the thread is enough reason to believe that something has to be done about this "mentality".

If this government had the guts to change the education program citing "international standards", why cant it just insert basic drivers education into the system (with a meaningful emphasis on responsibilities, regulations and penalties) ? Maybe then can awareness on proper motoring (esp with the motorbikes) have an effect on the next generation. It may not be a guarantee that there will be no rotten eggs but at least its a step in minimizing the existence of road maniacs. Dedicated lanes DO NOT WORK in this country (just see how many motors/pubs get smucked outside their designated lanes). Heck even Ferrari's do fly into the PUB lane!

Just this morning, I was in Santolan, on the way to EDSA. Nasa bandang Camp Crame ako. May jeepney sa harap ko and we were both going at around 40kp/h. Doon sa may gate ng crame, bigla na lang may lumabas na scooter na dala ng isang taong walang helmet, walang kahit na anong protective gear. ZOOM! Tumawid ng santolan from the Camp Crame gate. Muntikan nang mabundol ng jeepney sa harap ko.

Nabangga wife ko ng counterflowing MC. Huminto na wife ko pero inabot pa rin sya. Ang MC driver 17 years old, walang helmet, student permit, walang plaka.

Nung una di pa inaasikaso wife ko sa presinto. Buti na lang may kilala sya na kilala yung mga pulis, nung matawagan eh inasikaso na sila.

Impounded yung motor, my wife will bring the car to insurance for estimate, then balik sa pulis dala estimate, then gagawa pulis report, at pagbabayad sa MC yung participation. Ewan ko pero parang di magandang procedure na ito, bat nauna estimate ng insurance sa pulis report? Sabi ko sa wife ko hayaan na lang sa impound yung motor, 10k to 15k to para mailabas sa impound. We may even doing the kid a favor by keeping his MC on impound thus keeping him alive, at least for a while.

Everything is tax related

1. Fuel have tax, more fuel spent, more tax comes in
2. Purchase of motorcycle, helmet, accessories also add to Tax
3. The Gov need to blame later on the growing number of motorcycles on the air pollution, again to implement the clean air act you need to collect tax, and the tax collected does not guarantee it will be used to implement the clean air act.
4. When a motorcycle is involved in a accident, more taxes, repair cost.
5. Attorney fee is now currently being looked at to be taxed.
6. Hospitalization is also taxed
8. Funeral service is also taxed
9. We need to secure comprehensive insurance, part of the amount is again for tax.

With this tax generating scenario, why would the Government be interested to fix the problem?
