Sarap siguro mag-drive ng walking speed sa harap mo just to exercise my 'freedom'. hehehe.
I'm not posting this because I drive fast. I'm posting this because I have been driving some of the slowest vehicles available in the market for the past 10 years and I know how and when to let others pass in a safe and courteous manner.

We do have the freedom to drive whichever way we want... but once you're on public roads, you have to realize that those roads are not built for you and you alone. They're built to allow people to get from one place to another quickly and safely.
Thank goodness there are some truck and tricycle drivers out there who realize this. Some truck and tricycle drivers in hilly regions will pull over to the side when they notice that other vehicles are being held up behind them.
It's something I practice myself. If you can't beat them, let them overtake. Now if only everyone on the street was like that...

Ehek! Tinamaan 'ata ako, but that's only because I'm still learning how to drive so maybe the rants above do not apply to me. Last night, my instructor took me night driving in city streets (2nd lesson pa lang...I think I wasn't equipped with the necessary driving instincts yet). Eh puno ng motorista. Namatay engine several times. Di pa ako marunong mag-timpla after recovering from half-brake. The motorists behind me were yelling and screaming. Grabe, traumatic talaga. May signboard naman kami sa likod ng kotse to warn others that a student driver is behind the wheel. Pero understandable na mainip sila kasi gabi na, they were probably tired from whatever they did the whole day and were impatient to go home. Still, the experience was embarrassing and a bit traumatizing for a new driver like me. Di naman ako humaharang when faster, more experienced drivers want to pass so I extend the expected courtesies. But I am grateful for the patient motorists who give newbies the chance to recover on the road.
Ang tagal na ibinalita yang ban. Tapos warning pa ang ginawa first few days. Yung mga nahuli pa...
