A couple of years ago, I was making a right turn going to roxas blvd from world trade center. I was just following the taxi that made a right turn on a red light which I know was legal coz' there were no sign prohibiting it and also it wasn't a red arrow light it was a solid red light.
I was apprehended by a bike cop. I told him that there was no sign and so and the taxi did it earlier. He said "You can't make a right or left turn to a national road when the lights is red. Well the cop let me go then I asked my uncle he said the same thing. I thought to myself, where in the world do you see that in the philippine driving rules???? I mean is there any?? Can anyone clarify this rule? I know in some states in the U.S. that will allow a right turn on red light (except if the the red light is an arrow not a solid red light) others don't, you have to stop until the light goes green, then make the turn.

May 12th, 2006 08:21 PM #38sa weekend ko lang ginagawa ito sa makati .. mahirap na .. given yung infinitesimal knowledge ng ating traffic enforcers on traffic rules .. mas matagal pa mag-argue kesa sa maghintay ng signal ..

When in doubt, wait na lang ako ng green light. Wouldn't want to give "enforcers" a reason pa para "manghuli".

Parang may thread na nito dati...
Alam ko turn right any time with care unless...
1) may sign na no right turn on red signal
2) may stop light na right arrow ->
3) one way going the other way yung kalyeng papasukin mo (obviously, hehe)
