February 26th, 2007 12:56 PM #111^^^You missed my point shadow, which is that the rampant abuse of sirens and police escorts has led to indignance and confusion as to the "legitimacy" of such convoys. Nine out of ten times I would estimate, convoys are illegal yet tolerated because our police force hasn't the guts to crack down on supposed bigwigs. This has led to a total lack of respect for such, and thus vehicles with sirens and blinkers are often ignored as most drivers assume these are just some abusive government officials who feel that they are above the law.
