Ano kaya mangyayari sa kasong ito?

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday identified the United States Marine tagged in the killing of a Filipino transgender in Olongapo City.

In a memorandum, the PNP identified the American soldier as Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton of the US Marine Corps 2nd Battalion 9th Marines assigned at WestPac Express.

The PNP memo said the suspect was positively identified by witness Mark Clarence Gelviro through a line-up process provided by a representative of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).

A case of murder is being readied for filing against the suspect, the memo added.

Pemberton was reportedly on furlough after participating in a naval drill between Filipino and US forces in Zambales, when he allegedly killed Jennifer Laude, 26, in Room 1 of Celzone Lodge on Magsaysay Boulevard.

Earlier reports said the two met in a disco in Subic and checked into the motel. Before midnight, Pemberton was seen leaving while Laude was found naked in the bathroom, with the head resting on the rim of the toilet bowl.

In a statement on Tuesday morning, the US Embassy in Manila said Pemberton is being held onboard the USS Peleliu while a joint Naval Criminal Investigative Service and PNP is conducted.

"The United States will continue to fully cooperate with Philippine law enforcement authorities in every aspect of the investigation," the embassy added.

The embassy also expressed its condolences to the Laude's family and friends.

FROM BAR TO MOTEL | How a Pinoy transgender met a US Marine and was found dead 45 minutes later
MANILA, Philippines – On the night of October 11, 2014, a Filipino transgender was found dead in Olongapo City, allegedly killed by a US Marine participating in a joint training exercise with the Philippine military.

According to the American Psychological Association, the term "transgender" is "an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression or behavior does not conform to that typically associated with the *** to which they were assigned at birth."

News reports said the unnamed Marine, from 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, "is being held on board the amphibious assault ship Peleliu while agents with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service piece together what happened" Saturday night in Olongapo.

Here's a timeline of what allegedly transpired from the time the victim, Jeffrey Laude, met the alleged killer at Ambyanz Disco Bar until Laude's remains were discovered later at Celzone Lodge.

The timeline is based on the October 12, 2014 spot report of the Olongapo City police station, a report released by the Police Regional Office 3, and News5’s interview with the sister of Laude.

Night of October 11, 2014: Michelle, a sister of Jeffrey Serdoncillo Laude a.k.a. Jennifer, a 26 year-old male from Drapper West, Tapinac, Olongapo City, meets her brother at Ambyanz Disco Bar along Ramon Magsaysay, East Tapinac.

10:45 p.m., October 11, 2014: Witness Mark Clarence Gelviro says Laude met an unidentified white male foreigner at Ambyanz Disco.

10:55 p.m., October 11, 2014: According to the witness, Laude asked Gelviro to accompany him and the foreigner to Celzone Lodge. After checking in with the foreigner, Laude asked Gelviro to leave, ostensibly before the foreigner discovers that they are gays.

Another witness, Elias Galamos, a cashier at Celzone Lodge, says that Laude, accompanied by an unidentified foreigner, checked in at Room No. 1 of the motel located at No. 87 Ramon Magsaysay Drive, East Tapinac.

Gallamos described the foreigner as having white complexion, standing between 5’8” and 5’10", between 25 and 30 years old, and sporting a military haircut. Gallamos said the foreigner was wearing a white and blue striped shirt with white sleeves and a pair of black short pants.

11:30 p.m., October 11, 2014: The foreigner leaves the motel, and was seen casually walking down the stairs of Celzone Lodge. The door of the motel's Room 1 where Laude and the foreigner checked in was left ajar.

Thinking that Room 1 was already empty, Galamos opened the door to clean the room. Galamos supposedly saw a sandal near the comfort room and thought that Laude was still inside. Galamos closed the door of the room and went back to the counter.

11:45 p.m., October 11, 2014: Galamos checked Room 1 again and found the lifeless body of Laude.

Laude was found lying on the floor of the bath room with his head leaning in the direction of the toilet bowl.

Laude was found naked, his lower body partially covered with a cream-colored blanket. Injury marks were visible on the victim's neck, his tongue was protruding, and his hair was in disarray.

According to his sister, Michelle, Laude appeared to have been strangled to death, and his earlobe was cut.

12:05 a.m., October 12, 2014: Galamos reported to the Olongapo City Police Station that there was a dead person (Laude) found inside the toilet of Room 1 of the Celzone Lodge.

absuelto yan. defense will say she actually forgot to breath and died while engaging in oral ***. kaya nasa toilet bowl yung ulo she was trying to cough out her tongue. or suffered internal injuries while engaging in anal ***. dami pwedeng defense haha!

or, plead guilty to a lesser charge of involuntary man slaughter with a penis.

I read comments on social media re that case and surprisingly a lot of guys were saying the bakla deserved it. I don't think he deserved to be murdered. But then again I am not a man.

If a man reaches the point of oral *** and then he suddenly finds out that the girl he was with was actually a man, hindi niyo ba mapapatay sa galit?

I agree there is not much Public Outrage, perhaps mababa talaga ang tingin ng mga tao sa third ***. If it was a genuine woman who was killed, probably even the politicos will be calling for blood...

And the family of the victim maybe demanding justice in the media, but will more open for compensation or aregluhan.

No one expects the US Marine to rot behind bars, with the Daniel Smith and the now US Citizen "Nicole" case still fresh ...

Kapag transgender ba nakapag *** change na?

i just read that he was strangled to death. That method of killing signifies rage. You can actually see life fading from the victim's eyes...

Lesson learned for the military guy to be careful with one night stands and for homo***uals not to hide their true gender. Some men don't take that kind of deception very well.
