I used to have plate cover installed way back before pa naging issue yan. Tinamaan ng bola ng billiards kaya nabasag. Never bothered to replace them. I do install plate holders though(yun hindi tilted).Plates do leave a mark kapag nakadikit sa paint. This morning tinanggal ko na din, baka maging issue pa yan. Replaced it with rubber stoppers as spacers, yun nga lang naputol yun bolt. Have to go to a shop to have it removed.

Mas ok na kesa 5k na multa and impound.

Lets admit it, covers somehow impede the plates readability but we cannot deny that it offers some sort of protection.

    LTO: No-plate, no-travel starts August
    Posted at 07/04/2014 12:51 AM | Updated as of 07/04/2014 12:51 AM

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) will start strictly imposing its no-plate, no-travel policy in August.

The LTO said it is slowly filling the backlog of plates, especially those for motorcycles.

However, the LTO said the problem is that many new plates are still at their warehouse, waiting for car and motorcycle dealers to claim them.

In the National Capital Region (NCR) alone, out of the 15,000 available plates, only 3,000 have been claimed.

There are also 50,000 plates for motorcycles still waiting to be claimed.

The LTO explained that some dealers prefer to claim plates in bulk.

The no-plate, no-travel policy of the LTO has been suspended last year to make way for the standardization of the program and fill the backlog of plates. - report by Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News

So now it's the dealer's fault on why we still don't have our plates?

This guy is getting a whoppin in social media...

Guys, your thoughts? From Melvyn Vicencio Villaceran: "Dear Top Gear. I would like to ask your (or your readers') advice. Here's the story. When I got my new license plate, I went straight to the accesories shop and had plate covers installed with my Euro plates placed under the new license plates. And then two days later, this issue with plate covers surfaced. I was able to remove the clear plastic cover but couldn't remove the Euro plate and the back cover because I can't unfasten the new bolts. I'm afraid to go to the LTO for advice as they might fine me P5,000 right away."
