In any traffic situation, mag-abang ka lang. Siguradong meron diyang hindi mapakale - kung saan may butas doon niya isisiksik yung sasakyan niya.

What the hell for? Traffic na nga e. Pare-pareho tayong mabagal ang takbo. You're not going to get to your destination any faster than me, so why bother?

By how much? 2 seconds? 3? 10? Is that amount of time worth all the risk you're taking by driving like a maniac?

alert them of your intention to merge in front of them by sounding your horn (actually, this is a good idea when overtaking any car, kasi maraming drivers hindi tumitingin sa left side mirror pag gusto umovertake on the left)... if he doesn't slow down to let you in or if he speeds up or kung alanganin ka, just slow down and get back behind him...

Nakita nyo ba this morning yung accident sa Delpan Bridge involving a ten-wheeler container truck vs a Revo?

Grabe!

yeah. i remember this freakin bus. i was running fast along edsa at the leftmost lane (beside the MRT) when this bus suddenly appeared out of nowhere running diagonally coming from my right... as if gusto niyang pumunta sa leftmost lane (pwede ba yun sa buses), eh andun kaya ako? parang gusto niya ako banggain para mag slow down ako. well, i'm wrong here but because of that, i stepped a little more on the accelerator, hindi ko siya pinabayaan mauna. then from the rear view i saw hindi na niya tinuloy pagpunta sa leftmost lane, slowing down na kumabig na pakanan then after a few seconds wala na sa panigin ko. sometimes, those stupid buses porke small car eh minamaliit. they don't know what they're after.

in fairness, hindi lang naman truck drivers and walang road courtesy e... halos lahat ng PUVs, private/family employed drivers, at marami ring private drivers, including some students and car-owners

tip ko lang sa inyo, avoid being on their blind spot. when overtaking, better flash your headlights, most of the time, nagrerely yang mga yan sa side mirrors nila so mas malamang na makita ka nyan. kung busina lang, baka di nila mapansin sa ingay ng makina nila at sa lakas ng stereo nila. ang technique ko sa pag-overtake, I make sure na walang sasakyan sa harap ng truck or nakadistansya na yung last na nag-overtake sa kanya, as I approach, flash ng headlights, ocassionally -sabay beep-beep -- tapos tingin sa signal lights nya in case he intends to make a left or right lane change. pag clear na lahat, accelerate very fast para malampasan agad yung truck... then finally, leave the truck behind by at least 3-5 car lenghts. Kung sa tantya nyo di nyo kaya mabilis na overtake, I suggest be very patient na lang in tailing the truck. Better to tail a truck than to be beside it or in front of it. at least meron kang pang harang sa headlights ng oncoming traffic sa gabi

in the end, useless talaga makipagsapalaran sa trucks, I should know... inararo nako dati ng 10-wheeler truck. was driving a vw beetle, wasak yung rear fender ko, sabog pa yung rear wheel ko. I cut in front of the truck then had to suddenly slow down because of another vehicle in front of me.
