If its given that there is no left arrow sign on the road, I think TS is primarily concerned on the sign not being on the proper post. Madami din ganyan sa Espana manila. Yung mga no left sign nandun sa kabilang kalsada. Makikita mo lang kapag nakapwesto kana pakaliwa, or sobrang linaw ng mata mo. Minsan kasi yung arrows sa kalsada di mo na makikita kapag may build up na sa unahan mo. Its still supposed to be visible bago ka magtry kumaliwa. Kotong spot lang yang lugar na yan. Notice how many MAPSA are there on a single intersection.

Sometimes I still encounter cars that would flash me (kahit malayo pa sila) when I am turning left at go sila. I would think that they are not familiar with BGC so they don't know this rule (Left turn with caution). I just hate bring thought of as an aSShole

BTT: When driving in Makati, always drive with extra caution and paranoia. Outsiders or people not familiar with the city are an easy target for MAPSA. Bukod sa nakakalito na dahil sa mga one ways/no left/no right etc nagkalat pa mapsa.

    3. This is Makati. Aside from following signs, you must use common sense where there are no signs at all.

Having said that, obviously this is just one of the many traps Makati has laid out to entrap erring drivers. I have heard that line "Pinag-aralan na yan" much to often.

And also, I would think na bawal rin kumaliwa sa Shakey's. Di lang na-en-enforce.
boss, pwede po pumasok sa shakey's. Enforcer na po nag sabi. Saka most of the time pag hinahatid ko GF ko dyan kami sa shakey's na pasok. pag pauwi ako ng babay kaliwa ako vito cruz. So medyo nakakalito na rin specially almost everyday dun ang way ko.

saka sometimes pag kaka go lang ng traffic light cars in front of me turn left, kaya akala ko pwede tlga mag left turn.

Most of the time kasi umaasa ako sa signs than the markings.

Since when driving, you look at the markings and you usually cant ask an enforcer kung pwede mag left. Gumagawa sila ng sarili nilang patakaran. Who knows, pwede rin nilang bawiin the next day yan. I also tend not to follow what the cars in front of me do, since maraming drivers dont follow the signs there.

There is also the comfort factor. Palagi ka nandyan at sabi mo nga ginawa mo na dati yan, despite the obvious markings. Dito ng sa Pasig malapit sa simbahan, may one way street na notorious na maraming nag go go against the flow at di hinuhuli. Natyempo lang may nag enforce.

You turn left when clear or with caution, following right-of-way rules. Good examples are intersections in BGC.

Also, I'm not saying all NY road rules are the same here in PH, but here's a reference that discusses turning left on intersections with three-aspect traffic lights: Chapter 5: Intersections and Turns | New York State DMV

I know na may road marking dun sa kalsada with a straight arrow, pero kung may sasakyan sa ibabaw nyan when you approached the intersection hindi rin sya helpful. I also know na may no left turn sign dun sa intersection as pointed out by the TS but again, it's not positioned to be helpful either. Hehe.

If the marking states na derecho lang, dapat pinag bawal na din kumaliwa papuntang Shakey's just to avoid confusion.

Or para talaga mas mayos, i-lagay nila ito sa poste dun sa KFC or somewhere visible.

    PS to all readers:
Just notice that it is not Vito Cruz, it is Pablo Ocampo.
